Mountain Music

Nelson County is becoming known for its live music scene. The Wintergreen Performing Arts Summer Music Festival kicks off on July 6th. I will be posting additional information about this festival tomorrow.

Today, I want to mention the Summer music at Humpback Rocks Mountain Farm, on the Blue Ridge Parkway. This Summer, several music events are planned at this Appalachian farm exhibit. Humpback Rocks Mountain Farm is located at milepost 5.8 on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

On July 5th, Sunnyside with Carol Phillips will provide patriotic music in the afternoon and there will be mountain crafts on display. Admission is free. Call 540-943-4716 for information.

During the Summer, there will be a Mountaintop Jam Session at Humpback Rocks Mountain Farm every 2nd and 4th Saturday starting at 12PM. This is for all ages and all levels and has free admission. This is a great way to hear some local, mountain music.

On Sunday, July 19th, the Modern Bluegrass Music Event will be held at the mountain farm at 2PM. Better Than Nothing will play modern blue grass music and admission is free.
