Wintergreen Kid’s Summer Camps

Visiting Wintergreen this Summer and looking for something for the kids to do? Wintergreen offers many fun programs for kids of all ages. Over the next few weeks, I will be posting information about Summer 2009 programs. Today’s topic is “Junior Explorers Specialty Camps”. These camps are for kids 9-14 years old. Here’s a list of the camps:

June 27-28: Water Rodeo: Learn to snorkel in the pool and then in Lake Monocan. There will also be canoeing instruction. Daily fee: $80/Two Day Camp: $150

July 11-12 or August 8-9: Lost, Survival Training! Explore Wintergreen’s 11,000 acres learning how to read maps, use a compass, plot courses, use a GPS, etc. Daily fee: $80/Two Day Camp: $150

July 18-19 or August 15-16: Rocks! Introduction to knot tying, bouldering, belaying, climbing safety and rock slide picnicking. Daily fee $80/Two Day Camp $150

July 18-19: Backpacking: Safety in the woods, leave no trace, setting up camp, bag lunch, dinner over a campfire, ghost stories and more. Two Day $150
