Lake Monocan Opens

I have been getting a lot of questions about Lake Monocan in Stoney Creek at Wintergreen. Yes! The public can visit the lake Sunday-Friday for a fee. On Saturdays, the lake is reserved for Wintergreen Club Members and those staying in resort rentals.

There’s lots to do at the lake, including picnic area rentals. You can rent a picnic area for $20/half day or $30/whole day. In addition, there are bike and boat rentals.

Or you can just chill out on the sandy beach while working on your tan. Enjoy a walk on a well-marked trail, a swim in the brisk mountain lake water, great views and fishing. There is also a snack bar selling your Summer favorites.

To visit the lake, enter Stoney Creek on Monocan Drive from Rt. 151. (main entrance to Stoney Creek) Continue on Monocan Drive until you see the signs for the lake on your right.

I hope to see you in beautiful Nelson County soon…
