Snow & Slope Report

Nelson County had its first snow over last weekend, and there is a hint of natural snow for this coming weekend. Temperatures are also cold in the Wintergreen Mountain Village and the resort is blasting snow.

Last Summer, Wintergreen boosted its snow making capabilities by upgrading its snow making machinery. We will be reaping the rewards of the boosted system when Ski & Ride Season opens on Friday, December 10th.

Wintergreen is now making snow on these slopes:

Eagles Swoop
Upper Cross Trail
Lower Cross Trail
Potato Patch
Upper & Lower Dobie
Upper Cliffhanger
Lower Wild Turkey
Logger’s Alley
Hydraulic

And in Ridely’s Fun Park and the Plunge Tubing Park. The Plunge is Virginia’s largest snow tubing park.

Yes, Wintergreen is already making snow in the Highlands and is predicting one of the earliest openings of the Highlands ski area in the history of the resort.

Ice Skating is scheduled to open on December 18th.
