Ski & Ride Report: Fresh Snow on the Slopes! Today, we will be enjoying about 4 inches of fresh snow on the slopes from yesterday's snow storm. Wintergreen has been working around the clock to open more slopes for this weekend. Night skiing starts today! WTG has 17 slopes open and plans to be 100% open by Christmas!

Christmas Week Updates

Here are some helpful updates for Christmas week in Wintergreen and Nelson County:

Lodging: Many of the resort condos and homes are booked for Christmas week and New Year's Eve. Wintergreen still has a few properties available and they can be booked at www.WintergreenResort.com Dont forget that Nelson County also has B&Bs. For a full list of Nelson County lodging, visit www.NelsonCounty.com

Christmas Decorations: The Wintergreen Mountain Village is completely decorated for Christmas. Be sure to stop by the Mountain Inn Lodge with your camera. The large Christmas tree in the Gristmill is the perfect place for a family photo.

Tickets and Rentals: You can pre-purchase tickets for Ridgely's Fun Park and for the Plunge Tubing Park at www.WintergreenResort.com. I highly recommend pre-purchasing tickets for these two resort amenities for Christmas Week.

Tip: You can also rent gear at The Ski Barn in Beech Grove. Many of you pass The Ski Barn on the way to Wintergreen.

Restaurants: All of Wintergreen's mountain restaurants will be open for Christmas week. I also recommend reservations for The Copper Mine Bistro or for Devil's Grill. The Edge and Pryor's Porch will be open and do not take reservations.

Coffee: Wintergreen's new coffee shop is located inside of the General Store in the Mountain Inn Lodge. Wintergreen now serves Starbucks coffee in the General Store as well as hot chocolate and many of your favorites. They also have snacks! Coffee is also available at the Black Rock Market "on the mountain". The Java Depot in Beech Grove is open 7 days a week for coffee, breakfast and lunch.

Nelson County Wineries and Breweries: Most of Nelson County Wineries will be open for Christmas week. I suggest to call in advance. You can find a full list of area wineries in my Annual Holiday Guide at both of my web sites: www.ExperienceWintergreen.com and www.ExperienceNelsonCounty.com All of the Nelson County breweries will be open for Christmas week, except for Christmas day.
